‘Black Adam’ Hits Theatres with a Promise to Change DC’s Hierarchy of Power

PHNOM PENH: Legend Cinema hosted an exclusive pre-screening event for the latest DC superhero film, Black Adam, on Thursday, 20 October.

Hall 3 of Legend Premium Olympia was packed with specially invited guests and lucky fans who got to see the film before anyone else in the country. The thrilled audience clapped and cheered their way through all 124 minutes of action and superhero magic.

The latest addition to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) tells the story of Black Adam, a powerful being who is freed from his earthly tomb nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods. The film stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the titular role and is a spin-off from the 2019 DC superhero film, ‘Shazam!’

The film also brings characters from the Justice Society, often considered the first superhero team in the history of comics, to the big screen, starring Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.

For months now, Johnson has been promoting his film to fans by promising that “The Hierarchy of Power in the DC Universe is about to change,” particularly pitting his character, Black Adam, against the superhero of all superheroes, Superman.

So does the film actually live up to that promise? Come and find out by catching Black Adam in theatres, screening at Legend Cinemas all across Cambodia from Friday, 21 October.
